Estimation Methodology

The estimation by AI-renov' is based on available technical data such as:

  • Insulation performance of walls, windows, and roofing

  • Year of construction

  • Heating and domestic hot water systems

These data serve as inputs for the AI to simulate the thermal physical equations, which also considers the building's geometry and compactness.

When technical data is missing, they are estimated probabilistically using information from similar buildings. This introduces a higher degree of uncertainty in their estimation.

This estimated DPE is using open-access data from the French National Building Database BDNB.
